Late Inning Rally Dooms Flashes on Saturday

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team dropped game two of their three-game set against the Hofstra Pride by a score of 11-17.
Hofstra would jump all over Kent State in the top of the first scoring four runs on an RBI single and a three-run home run to left.
The Flashes would get one back in the bottom of the third on an RBI single to centerfield by Sawyer Solitaria. The Pride would answer in the following half inning with a RBI double of their own.
Kent State would put up single tallies in the fourth and fifth thanks to a Hayden Jatczak RBI single up the middle and a Hunter Klotz fielder's choice.
Hofstra would extend their lead in the top of the sixth with their first of two six run innings.
The Flashes would then go on to score eight straight runs to tie up the game at eleven. Casey had a two-run homer to right in the sixth and Hunter Klotz had a two-run opposite field homer in the seventh. Four more runs would come across in the eighth courtosey of a Brody Williams bases loaded walk, a two-run single by Solitaria, and a RBI single through the right side of the infield.
Hofstra would rally and score six in the top of the ninth to secure the 17-11 victory and force a rubber match on Sunday.
Kent State and Hofstra will be back to action for the rubber-match on Sunday. First pitch has been moved up an hour and is currently set for 12 p.m.
