VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Kent Stat senior Alexandre Malanda earned First Team All-America status by placing seventh in the men's triple jump at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.
Malanda saved his best jump for his last attempt and soared 52'-8" to leap Missouri's Sterling Scott. He is the first Golden Flash ever to be a First Team All-American in the event.
After a foul on his opening attempt and a mark of 50' on his next jump, the Paris native needed a big mark on his third attempt and delivered a leap of 52'-6" to advance to the finals.
Malanda scored two points for Kent State in the team standings, which was good enough to a tie for 50th.
