Kedronova Finishes Top Five, Flashes Fourth at Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Kent State women's golf team wrapped up the Florida State Match Up on Sunday, placing fourth of the 13 teams competing. The Flashes posted a 9-over-par 297 in round three to conclude the tournament at 31-over-par.
Kent State's best finish across the weekend was recorded by Veronika Kedronova, who recorded the sixth top-ten finish of her sophomore season. After a stellar 69 in yesterday's second round, she concluded her tournament with a 2-over-par 74 in round three. After bogey troubles in her opening six holes, Kedronova recorded two birdies and 11 pars in her final 13 holes for a strong finish to the tournament. She concludes the event tied for fifth place among the 73 golfers competing at 3-over-par.
With a 4-over-par 76 in round three, Leon Takagi clinched her highest finish of the 2024-2025 season on the individual leaderboard. The junior concludes the Florida State matchup tied for 17th place at 8-over-par, her first top-20 finish of the season. Takagi's round was highlighted by an eagle on hole no. 11 to go along with two birdies on the day.
The Flashes' best round on Sunday was recorded by freshman Isabella Goyette, who posted an even-par 72 in round three. She tallied four birdies and ten pars in the final round to conclude the tournament at 13-over-par and tied for 32nd place. The final score countable toward the Kent State team total was earned by Petra Babicova. After a difficult opening 36 holes, the freshman posted a solid 3-over-par 75 in round three, including three birdies on the front nine.Babicova ends the event at 20-over-par and tied for 54th place.
The Flashes return to action on Saturday, April 12, for their final tournament before the MAC Championship as they take part in the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational at OSU Golf Club.
