KENT – Kent State Men's Basketball (20-10, 9-7 MAC) their 2024-2025 regular season on Friday, March 7 at home in the M.A.C. Center against the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Golden Flashes have tallied their 20th win of the season and their 10th conference win in their most recent outing against the Western Michigan Broncos. The ballgame saw Jalen Sullinger drop 31 points and Delrecco Gillespie pull down 18 rebounds and score 18 points for his third double-double of the Team 109 campaign.
Last Time Out
Kent State most recently defeated Western Michigan University on Tuesday, March 4 by a final score of 77-76 to notch their 20th win of the season and their 10th MAC win. It marks the ninth time the Golden Flashes have had 20 or more wins under the direction of Head Coach Rob Senderoff. Jalen Sulllinger's 31 points were just one shy of his career high of 32, which he has achieved twice this season. The first time he dropped 32 was in KSU's previous meeting with Western Michigan on Jan. 14. Delrecco Gillespie led the Flashes with 18 boards matching his career high from earlier this season while also scoring 18 for his third double-double of the season and his career. VonCameron Davis scored 11 points for his 22nd double-digit performance of the season.
Scouting the Eagles
Eastern Michigan enters this contest with an overall record of 16-14 and an 9-8 record in the MAC; with one game left to go in the conference schedule EMU sits fifth overall in the standings having secured a bid to the MAC Tournament next week.To do so the Eagles won at Ohio University by a final score of 83-79 on March 4. The Golden Flashes won the first meeting with Eastern Michigan this season on Feb. 4 at EMU by a final score of 70-49 marking the start of a five-game winning streak for Kent State. Overall, the Flashes have a 50-37 record against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
