
Kent State Beats Toledo on Senior Day, Clinches Third Straight 20-Win Campaign

KENT, Ohio — The Kent State women's basketball team closed the regular season with a 69-62 victory over Toledo on Senior Day.
The Golden Flashes (20-11, 12-6 MAC) have won at least 20 games in three consecutive seasons, the program's longest streak since the turn of the century. Head coach Todd Starkey has now guided Kent State to four 20-win campaigns, with 19 victories in three additional years.
Seniors Jenna Batsch and Bridget Dunn had memorable performances in their final time playing at the M.A.C. Center. Batsch led all scorers with 27 points and recorded a career-high six steals. Dunn finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season and recorded a career-high five assists. She now has 303 rebounds and is the fourth Flash all-time to grab at least 300 boards in a season.
Kent State led 19 points at halftime and shot 6-for-6 at the free throw line in the final 30 seconds to close it out after the Rockets got within four.
The Flashes will head to Cleveland for the Mid-American Conference Women's Basketball Tournament and battle Miami in a quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday, March 12.
