Kent State looks for its first series victory this weekend with three Mid-American Conference contests at Central Michigan. A single game is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. with a doubleheader to follow on Saturday at 1 p.m.
About the Flashes
Kent State showed great fight in this past weekend's series against Ball State, nearly coming back from a 10-run deficit in a 16-15 Game 2 loss and then scoring single runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings to send the finale to extra innings.
The bats came alive following a 14-1 Game 1Â defeat, as the Golden Flashes recorded a .328 batting average and 13 extra-base hits over the final two contests. Senior Savannah Wing led the way with four hits and four RBIs in the series. All of her hits were for extra bases, as she recorded a pair of doubles to move into a tie for 10th on Kent State's career list with 34. Sophomore Leilani Johnson homered twice and had a team-high five RBIs.
Senior Delaney Robeson leads the lineup in most hitting categories overall, including hits (38), slugging percentage (.500), home runs (3) and RBIs (27). Senior Katie Jo Moery, who collected the 100th hit of her college career at Bowling Green on March 22, has added power to the lineup with 13 extra-base hits and is second on the team with 20 RBIs.
In MAC games, junior Brynn Libler has a team-high .375 batting average and has recorded a hit in 10 of 12 games. The lefty has a career-best .310 average overall on the season and leads Kent State with 25 runs scored.
Freshman Ella Johnson ranks ninth in the country with 30 appearances and is ninth in the MAC with 48 strikeouts.
Scouting the Opposition
Central Michigan (16-18, 8-4 MAC) sits fourth in the MAC standings but has dropped three of its last four games after a 6-2 loss to Michigan on Wednesday.

Sleeman enters the series with a 14-game hitting streak while ranking in the top five in the conference in batting average (.394), slugging percentage (.780), on-base percentage (.485), home runs (12) and RBIs (38). London Williams also provides a powerful bat with seven home runs and 23 RBIs.
Mackenzie Langan (7-6) is the MAC leader with four shutouts and ranks in the top five in ERA (2.68) and opponent batting average (.254).
