Flashes Bounce Back and Take Game Two in Oxford

OXFORD- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team took down the Miami RedHawks on Saturday by a score of 13-4.
Kent State would break the scoreless tie in the top of the third on a Luke Matthews RBI double and Hayden Jatczak RBI single. The lead would not last long as Miami would answer back with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning.
The Flashes would strike for three more runs in the top of the seventh. Alejandro Covas and Jatczak would each drive in one on RBI singles and Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe would bring in one on a bases loaded hit by pitch.
The two teams would exchange runs on RBI ground outs in the sixth inning.
Kent State would hang a three spot again in the top of the seventh with back-to-back-to-back singles by Covas, Kiracofe, and Ripken Reese. The RedHawks would score one in the bottom half of the inning.
Three more insurance runs would come across the plate for the Flashes in the top of the ninth thanks to a bases loaded hit by pitch, walk, and single off the bat of Jake Casey.
On the mound, Jake Bean delivered another quality start going six innings allowing three runs on four hits while striking out six RedHawks en route to his team leading fifth win. Benny Roebuck allowed one run on one hit in his one inning of work. Jordan Kolenda would pitch two shutout innings to finish the game.
Jatczak recorded his twelfth multi-hit game and third game of four or more runs batted in.
On Deck for the Flashes
Kent State and Miami will meet for the rubber match of the three-game series on Sunday Apr. 13. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
