Flashes Run Rule Bobcats For Second Straight Day

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team took game two over the Ohio Bobcats by a score of 14-2. Kent State would score in bunches scoring two in the first and fourth and then five in the fifth and sixth.
The Flashes would get on the board early thanks to a Sawyer Solitaria bases loaded hit by pitch and an RBI ground out by Hunter Klotz.
Klotz would record the Flashes first hit in the bottom of the fourth when he took a 3-1 pitch and parked it over the wall out in right field. Alejandro Covas would bring in another run on an RBI single that he ripped through the left side of the infield.
Ohio would get their first run in the top of the fifth on a home run to left field.
Kent State would respond with five runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth. Solitaria would bring in the first two runs of the inning on a double ripped out to the gap out in left center. Brody Williams would follow it up with an RBI single ripped right back up the middle. Klotz would bring in Williams on an RBI triple off the wall in center and would come into score on a Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe sacrifice fly.
The Bobcats would get another run in the top of the sixth inning.
The Flashes would put the game out of reach in the bottom of the sixth with their second five spot. Kent State would get RBI singles from Williams and Kiracofe, a sacrifice fly from Hunter Klotz, a Covas bases loaded hit by pitch, and a Luke Matthews bases loaded walk.
On the mound for the Flashes Jacob Bean delivered another quality start going five innings allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five. Benny Roebuck followed Bean out of the bullpen pitching the final two innings allowing one run on two hits while striking out four Bobcats.

Kent State will go for the sweep over Ohio on Saturday April 19. First pitch is now slated for 4:00 p.m.
