
Flashes Host Bobcats for Key MAC Series

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes Baseball team return home to the friendly confines of Schoonover Stadium for a Mid-American Conference weekend series against the Ohio Bobcats.
All three games will be streamed for free on BoxCast with Dane Richardson on the call. Live stats will also be provided for all three contests.
About The Flashes
Kent State is coming off their first series loss in conference play last weekend in Oxford against the Miami RedHawks. Kent State dropped Friday's contest 4-5, took Saturday's game 13-4, and lost the rubber match 7-9.
Jake Bean delivered another quality start in Saturday's win over Miami. The sophomore went six innings allowing three runs on four hits while striking out six RedHawks. Saturday marked Bean's third straight start over six innings and fourth on the season.
Hayden Jatczak continued to swing a hot bat for the Flashes en route to MAC Player of the Week honors. In the Flashes' victory over Ohio State on Wednesday going 2-4 with three runs and three runs driven in. The graduate student opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. Later the MAC leader in doubles added another with an RBI double in the third inning. Over the weekend in Oxford the grad student recorded five hits and drove in eight runs with a pair of four RBI days. Jatczak now has four games on the season with four or more RBIs. On Sunday Jatczak hit his eighth homer on the season and 20th double on the season.

Scouting the Opposition
The Ohio Bobcats come into the weekend at 9-26 on the season and are 4-11 in MAC play. The Bobcats are coming off their conference "bye week" where they welcomed in VMI for a weekend series before hosting Dayton in a midweek matchup. Ohio took the series opener against VMI before losing the next three games to VMI and Dayton.
Freshman, Matt Ineich, has been swinging a red-hot bat to start his collegiate career. The infielder is hitting .422 on the season recording a hit in 29 out of 31 games played this season. Ineich leads the team in batting average (.422), hits (54), and stolen bases (9).
