"We've recruited Dez since his freshman year of high school.", said coach Senderoff. "He is a talented forward who can play both inside and out. He's a winner. It's the first time we've signed an Indiana All-Star, and we've had a number of good players from the state of Indiana play here. He's a finalist for Indiana Mr. Basketball. He really fits the Kent State mold of player. He's a high motor guy. He meshed really well with our guys on his visit and coach Fleming really did a great job of communicating and staying in touch with his family. His high school coach Chris Hawkins is someone who we've had a relationship with for a number of years. He was Kellon Thomas' high school head coach who also played here at Kent State. Dez has been coached very well by Chris. We are excited about adding him to our basketball family."
