
Golden Flashes Win 10 Events at Dave Labor Invitational

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Kent State totaled 10 first-place finishes during competition at the Dave Labor Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Donovan Crawford earned the first victory of the meet on Friday with a personal-best mark of 188'-6" in the men's hammer throw.
The Golden Flashes posted victories in all four hurdles races. Svenia De Coninck and Marinna Atanmo recorded new PRs in their victories. De Coninck won the women's 100-meter hurdles in 14.51 seconds and Atanmo crossed the finish line first in the women's 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.03. In the men's races, Linkon Tyrrell won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.69 seconds and Beau Harkelroad placed first in the 400m hurdles in 54.97 seconds.
Aliesha Shaw and Kristen Jay joined Crawford with first-place showings in throwing events. Shaw won the women's discus throw with a mark of 157' and Jay recorded a mark of 156' to win the women's javelin throw in her Kent State debut.
Sydney Miller and Nora Salem were victorious in distance races. Miller won the women's 10,000-meter run in 39:03.40 and Salem won the women's 5,000-meter run in 18:23.21.
Amare Hall posted a PR of 24'-4.25" to win the men's long jump.
Kent State will travel to the Duke Invitational for competition from Thursday, April 10 through Saturday, April 12.
