CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its men's golf All-MAC teams on Friday, with the conference champion Golden Flashes earning three selections.
Senior Jordan Gilkison and freshman Isaiah Ibit were each given First Team recognition. Senior Bryce Reed earned a Second Team selection to round out three honors for Kent State.
Gilkison adds to his MAC Golfer of the Year honor with a First Team All-MAC selection for a phenomenal senior season in which he claimed three individual wins: the Flyer Classic in October, the Buckeye Classic earlier this month in Columbus, and the individual title at this week's MAC Championship. He led the Flashes with a 70.88 scoring average this season, posting 24 rounds of par or better and 13 rounds in the 60s. Gilkison recorded 8 top-five finishes in 11 official tournaments this season. Gilkison's honor marks the fourth All-MAC selection of his four-year career, including three consecutive First Team distinctions.
Ibit wraps up a phenomenal freshman campaign with a First Team All-MAC honor to pair with his MAC Freshman of the Year distinction. The Canadian international appeared in all 11 team events for Kent State this season, posting 4 top-ten finishes. Ibit is second on the team with a 72.39 scoring average, 18 rounds of par or better, and 12 rounds in the 60s this season. At both the Canadian Collegiate and the Hal Williams Intercollegiate, Ibit fired three consecutive rounds in the 60s, a feat only accomplished seven times in Kent State history. Ibit is the only freshman on the 2025 All-MAC First Team and the first Kent State freshman to earn the honor since John Hahn in 2008, who went on the earn four consecutive First Team All-MAC selections.
Reed earns his second consecutive Second Team All-MAC selection after also recording his second consecutive MAC All-Tournament honor earlier this week at the MAC Championship. He competed in all 11 official events for the Flashes this season, posting two top-five and three top-15 finishes. Reed is one of just three Kent State golfers to record a scoring average under 73 this season, with a 72.91, posting 13 rounds of par or better and six rounds in the 60s. His third-place finish at this week's MAC Championship was his highest of the season, firing a 4-under-par 54-hole score. Reed's 66 in round three of September's Canadian Collegiate is the joint-lowest score by a Kent State golfer this season.
The Flashes begin their postseason on May 12 in the Amherst, Virginia, NCAA Regional at Poplar Grove Golf Club.
