
Golden Flashes Start NCAA East First Round Action on Wednesday

Members of the Kent State track and field program will compete at the 2025 NCAA East Preliminary Rounds that will be held Wednesday through Saturday at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville.
The Golden Flashes have 11 student-athletes entered for action, including four in multiple events. Ayden Bath is entered in the men's 110-meter hurdles and long jump, Jaheim Jones in the men's 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, Alexandre Malanda in the men's long jump and triple jump and Aliesha Shaw in the women's discus throw and shot put.
Amryne Chilton is Kent State's final entrant on the track and will run the 200m dash for the second year in a row.
Kent State has five total entries in the horizontal jumps. Amare Hall joins Bath and Malanda in the men's long jump, while Malanda (men's) and Keeli Dunaway (women's) will compete in the triple jump. Malanda is the highest seeded Flash at No. 6 in the triple jump.
Svenia De Coninck is entered in the women's high jump for the second year in a row.
Three additional Flashes will join Shaw in throwing events. Donovan Crawford will be in action in the men's discus, Kristen Jay in the women's javelin and Charles Pawlosky in the men's shot put.
The top 12 performers in each event will advance to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon. Shelby Grover already qualified for the national meet in the women's heptathlon.
