KENT, Ohio – Kent State's golf programs will be represented on the world stage in early October, as Isaiah Ibit and Veronika Kedronova will each represent their home nations at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore.
The World Amateur Team Championship is a prestigious international amateur golf competition hosted biannually by the International Golf Federation. The women's tournament will be contested from October 1-4, while the men are set to compete October 8-11, each taking place at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.
Ibit earns his selection for Team Canada after starring as a freshman in the 2024-25 season with the Flashes. In his debut collegiate season, Ibit tallied seven top 20 finishes, four top ten finishes, and three top five finishes. He also recorded 19 rounds of par or better and 13 rounds in the 60s. Ibit's best finish of the season came in his home country at the Canadian Collegiate last September, where he fired a season-best 54-hole score of 12-under-par at 204 to finish as runner-up. In July, Ibit made his professional debut at his hometown course, making the cut at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open.
Kedronova earns a spot on Team Czechia after two stellar years to open her Kent State career. Across 25 events, she owns 14 top 20 finishes, 13 top ten finishes, seven top five finishes, and three individual wins. Kedronova has also tallied 30 rounds of par or better and seven rounds in the 60s in her collegiate career. As a freshman in the Spring of 2024, Kedronova earned a spot in the NCAA Championships after finishing as the top individual on a non-advancing team at the Las Vegas Regional. Two of her three individual victories came in the Fall of 2024, posting a 7-under-par 209 at the Red Raider Invitational and a 5-under-par 211 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational.
Ibit and the Golden Flashes' men's golf team will tee off the 2025-26 season across the globe as they take part in the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League, September 3-5 in Mishima, Japan. Kedronova and the women's team are set to begin the season at the Boilermaker Classic, slated for September 1-2 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
