CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced on Friday that Kent State's Isaiah Ibit has won MAC Golfer of the Week. This comes after an impressive performance at the Canadian Collegiate earlier this week, marking the third time the sophomore has received the honor in his young collegiate career.
Ibit matched his collegiate career-best 54-hole score at the Canadian Collegiate with a 12-under-par 204. The sophomore finished third at the event, fueled by a 64 in round one, the lowest round of his collegiate career. An Ontario native playing on home soil, Ibit was third among the field of 62 with 17 birdies across three rounds, also adding an eagle in round one.
The Golden Flashes will return to action on September 29 at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The prestigious event will also feature the Kent State women's golf team.
