
Sprints and Jumps Groups Shine at Jud Logan Memorial

KENT, Ohio – Kent State track and field student-athletes totaled seven victories and five program top-10 marks in sprints, hurdles and jumps events during action at the Jud Logan Memorial inside of the Kent State Field House on Friday.
Keeli Dunaway recorded the highest ranking on the Golden Flashes' all-time performance list with a win in the women's triple jump. Dunaway opened the competition with an indoor personal-best on her first attempt and then beat that in the first round of finals with a mark of 41'-10.75, which sits fourth in program history. Lanee Hall soared 40'-10.50" for second place and the No. 9 in KSU history.
Gabrielle Hammonds and Alexa Nestor ran PRs for a one-two finish in the women's 60-meter hurdles. Hammonds edged her teammate in the final with a time of 8.56 seconds to tie for fifth in the record book. Nestor clocked at 8.67 seconds after running 8.57 in the prelims, which is good for the seventh fastest all-time.
Amryne Chilton won the women's 60-meter dash in 7.59 seconds, and Ainhoa Reparaz Sanchez was right behind in 7.60 seconds. Reparaz Sanchez ran a 7.57 during the prelims to claim the No. 10 spot all-time in her Kent State debut.
Grace Adegoke cleared 5'-6" to win the women's high jump. Amare Hall (24'-2.25") and Matilde Carboncini (19'-3.25") were victorious in the men's and women's long jump, respectively. Nia Massey added a victory in the women's 400-meter dash with a PR of 57.40 seconds.
The Flashes had three victories in middle distance races. Karsyn Spears led the way with a personal-best time of 4:57.72 in the women's mile. In the men's mile, Gabriel Wise was first across the finish line in 4:15.61. Dylan McBride ran an indoor PR of 1:51.45 to win the men's 800-meter run. Caleb Wilcox had the final individual win on the track with a time of 15:32.49 in the men's 5,000-meter run.
The final victory of the day was by Donovan Crawford, who unleashed a heave of 63'-2.25" in the men's weight throw.
Kent State will travel to Notre Dame next weekend for competition at the Meyo Invitational on, Jan. 30-31.
