
Women’s Basketball Travels to Toledo Wednesday for Key MAC Matchup

Kent State closes its January schedule on Wednesday evening with a road contest against Toledo. Tip inside of Savage Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Golden Flashes (9-10, 4-4 MAC) own a season-best four-game winning streak and most recently defeated Buffalo, 84-74, on Saturday. Kent State never trailed and led by 18 with three minutes remaining prior to a late run by the Bulls. Riley Rismiller led the way with a career-high 25 points on 11-of-12 shooting (91.7 percent), matching the program's record highest field goal percentage in a game set just one week prior by teammate Emory Klatt. Mya Babbitt added 23 points for her sixth 20-point performance of the season. Anna Campanelli continued her strong play in recent games and scored a career-high 19 points
Kent State is averaging 37.5 points in the paint during the winning streak and has received increased production with great efficiency from its post players. Emory Klatt and Riley Rismiller have combined to average 25.5 points while shooting 80.0-percent from the field over the past four games.
Junior Mya Babbitt is the third leading scorer in the MAC at 16.4 points per game and has two of the top six single-game scoring performances in the league. Babbitt is second in the conference with 44 three-point field goals. Juniors Riley Rismiller (8.6 ppg) and Tatiana Thomas (7.6 ppg) provide low post options. Rismiller has three double-doubles and ranks ninth in the MAC in rebounding with 6.4 per game, while Thomas is grabbing 7.4 boards per conference contest. Senior Dionna Gray (5.3 ppg) is fourth in the MAC in assists with 5.3 per game. Gray has recorded at least six assists in four straight games.
Scouting Toledo
The Rockets (9-8, 4-3 MAC) return to Savage Arena, where they are 6-2 this season, after splitting road games against Eastern Michigan (71-76) and Ohio (75-66) last week. Toledo's defense has been terrific during conference play. The Rockets are holding MAC opponents to 59.7 points per game and have kept three below 50.
Guard Kendall Caruthers is the top scorer at 13.0 points per game. Guard Faith Fedd-Robinson is close behind at 12.3 points per contest and grabs a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game. Guard Patricia Anumgba (9.9 ppg) has scored at least 22 points in two of the last three games.

• The Golden Flashes snapped an eight-game drought in the series by beating the Rockets, 69-62, on Senior Day at the end of last season.
