Hammonds Earns MAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND – Kent State graduate student Gabrielle Hammonds has been named Mid-American Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Hammonds won the 60m hurdles at the Akron Invitational in 8.35 seconds — the fastest time by a MAC competitor since 2019. Her personal-best effort ranks No. 73 nationally this season and moves her to No. 2 on Kent State's all-time performance list.
The Golden Flashes will conclude the indoor season this weekend at the MAC Championships, which will be hosted by Central Michigan.
