
Kent State Continues MAC Schedule this Weekend at Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Kent State Softball (11-11, 3-0 MAC) continues their early Mid-American Conference schedule against the Bulls of the University at Buffalo. The three-game series begins on Friday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m. at Buffalo's Nan Harvey Field, and continues Saturday, March 21 with a doubleheader with 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. start times. All three games will be streamed via YouTube Live, and live stats will be linked to the Kent State Softball schedule page.

Last Time Out
Kent State opened MAC play in convincing fashion sweeping UMass across a three-game series (March 13-14) by scores of 3-2, 14-1 (5 Inn.), and 10-6 to improve to 11-11 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. Junior outfielder Aaralyn Nogay earned MAC Player of the Week Honors batting a blistering .714 with a triple, a home run, four RBIs and a team-high three stolen bases across three games. There were also standout performances from a pair or freshmen. Caleigh Shaulis slashed .429/.600/1.143 with a home run and a team-leading six RBIs while Alex Trevena hit .571 with a homer, 4 RBIs, and a pair of stolen bases. The Golden Flashes batted .342 with a .644 slugging percentage and swiped 10 bags on the weekend. In the circle, freshman Meadow Ferri went 2-0 with a 1.45 ERA over 9.2 innings and fellow freshman Riley Miller posted a 1.75 ERA across eight innings, combining to hold UMass to just 9 runs in 18.2 total innings pitched.
Scouting Buffalo
The Buffalo Bulls enter this weekend with an overall record of 8-16, and a conference record of 1-2 having taken one of two from Northern Illinois. Leading the charge offensively is Reagan Terwilliger batting a roster leading .384 with a .505 on-base percentage and has been perfect on the bases going 14-for-14 in stolen base attempts. Abbey Nagel has been solid as well hitting .349 with three home runs and team high 18 RBIs, doing so with a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage. Bella Smithson is Buffalo's biggest power threat with five home runs and a .600 slugging percentage. It has been the opposite for Buffalo in the circle where the pitching staff carries a collective 7.99 ERA.
On Deck for the Flashes
The Golden Flashes are scheduled to be back home for a midweek doubleheader against Mercyhurst University on Wednesday, March 25. First pitch times are at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m..
