Cleveland– For the third time this season, sophomore defender Anna Zucconi and junior goalkeeper Sydney Davis have won Mid-American Conference player of the week honors in the same week for Kent State lacrosse.
Sophomore Anna Zucconi was a consistent force on the Kent State defense with two games in three days with two caused turnovers and three ground balls in each game against Akron and San Diego State.Â
She also anchored the defense that allowed just one goal against the Aztecs in the final quarter to allow her team's offense to mount a six-goal comeback in the final frame in a thrilling 11-10 win at home.Â
Sydney Davis won MAC goalkeeper of the week for the fourth time this season as she produced 16 saves in two games, including 10 against San Diego State on Friday. Her performance helped her team come back from down six. She is now just 12 saves away from reaching 300 career saves for the Flashes.
Zucconi, Davis and the rest of the Golden Flashes will return to MAC play on Saturday, March 28, when they pay a visit to Youngstown State with the game starting at noon.
