Kedronová Cards 69 to Lead Golden Flashes After Round One at Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Veronika Kedronová moved further up the Kent State record books after carding a 3-under-par 69 to lead the Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team to an 11th-place showing following the first round of the Clemson Invitational on Friday.
Kedronová's 69 has her in seventh place in a stacked individual field, sitting six shots back of leader Lynn Lim of Vanderbilt.
The round marked Kedronová's 43rd career round of par or better, moving her into a tie for fifth on the program's all-time list with Chloe Salort (2018-22). Kedronová now has 13 career rounds in the 60s, 13 rounds of par or better this season and a career-high six rounds in the 60s this year.
Kedronová carded her third eagle of the season on No. 17 and opened her first nine at 3-under, complemented by two birdies and a bogey. She added a birdie at No. 14 before a bogey on No. 16, then closed the nine with the eagle on No. 17 and a birdie on No. 18.
Isabella Goyette carded an even-par 72 to sit in 22nd place, shooting even par on both nines with two birdies and two bogeys on each. Goyette opened with a bogey-birdie-bogey sequence on Nos. 10 through 12 before sinking a birdie on No. 18 to come back to even par. On the turn, Goyette bogeyed two of the first three holes before a birdie on No. 4, then mirrored her first-nine finish with a birdie on No. 9 to close the round at even par.
Leon Takagi matched Goyette's bogey-birdie-bogey opening sequence but bogeyed No. 18 to finish the first nine at 2-over. Takagi played four holes at par to open the second nine and picked up a birdie at No. 5 before bogeys on Nos. 6 and 7 brought her in at 3-over-par 75, good for 62nd place.
Petra Babicová carded matching 2-over 38s on each nine for a 4-over-par 76, sitting in 72nd place. Babicová found four birdies on the round to offset her over-par holes.
Gracie Larsen rounded out the Golden Flashes lineup with a 9-over-par 81 in 86th place.
