
Golden Flashes Head to Jesse Owens Classic for Weekend Track and Field Action

Kent State will travel to Ohio State for competition at the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday and Saturday as the outdoor track and field season approaches the end of the regular season.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 78 total student-athletes entered for competition in Columbus.
Two of those athletes own top-100 national rankings in their events. Kristen Jay is 40th in the nation in the women's javelin with a personal-best mark of 166'-2", and Beau Harkelroad is ranked 91st in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 51.81 seconds.
Two additional Flashes who will be in action are ranked second in the Mid-American Conference in their events. Gabrielle Hammonds is second in the women's 100-meter hurdles (13.67), and Payton Shippee is second in the men's javelin throw (200'-4").
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Flashes will compete locally to close the regular season at the Akron Last Chance Invitational on Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7.
