Hanselman and Tracy Post Top 10 Finishes at Tommy Evans Invitational

NORTON, Ohio — Sophomore Michael Hanselman and junior Alexis Tracy earned top 10 finishes at the Tommy Evans Invitational on Friday evening as Kent State opened the cross country season.
Hanselman was the Golden Flashes' top finisher of the meet and placed third in the men's 6K with a time of 18:32.9. Sophomore Tanner Smith also ran a strong race and finished in 18:50.3 for 12th place.
Tracy placed sixth in the women's 5K with a time of 18:46.8, which is nearly 90 seconds faster than when she last ran the same course to open the 2024 season. Senior Ella McCollom (10th; 19:22.5), junior Nora Salem (11th; 19:35.7), junior Gianna Pedone (18th; 19:53.9) and junior Emerson Greene (19th; 19:57.2) also ran sub-20:00 races to finish in the top 20.
Kent State will return to action on Friday, Sept. 18 at the All-Ohio Classic in Cedarville, Ohio.
