The lone senior in the defensive backfield, Murray is slated to start at cornerback...a tremendous athlete with a lot of experience, the coaches are counting on him to step up and be a shut down corner...has earned three varsity letters.
2007 Junior Season
Started every game but the season finale in the defensive backfield...was third on the team with a career-high 75 tackles, 45 solo...added nine pass break-ups, one forced fumble as well as an interception against Delaware State on Sept. 15...his 10 passes defended was tied for eighth in the league...earned the team’s Most Improved Award on defense...made a career-high nine solo stops (11 total) at Temple Nov. 17...performance against Owls came on the heels of 10 tackles at Northern Illinois Nov. 10 and a season-high 12 stops against Central Michigan Oct. 27.
2006 Sophomore Season
Appeared in all 12 of Kent State’s games at defensive back...collected nine total tackles and also registered a pass break-up.
2005 Freshman Season
Received honorable mention from The Sporting News Freshman All-America Team...played in all 11 games, starting eight...finished sixth on the team with 62 total tackles...tallied five or more tackles in seven games...also had a pair of interceptions with 39 return yards and caused one fumble...had a career-best 13 tackles with an interception at Ohio Sept. 24...had eight tackles (five solo) at Western Michigan Oct. 29...also had eight stops against Buffalo Nov. 12...made five tackles in collegiate debut at Michigan State Sept. 3.
Prior to Kent State
Named first-team All-GCL, All-City and All-District as a senior at Archbishop Moeller High School...also received All-Ohio honorable mention...was a first-team All-CGL and honorable mention All-District pick as a junior...intercepted eight passes, returning three for touchdowns, and made 62 tackles as a senior...made 33 stops and had two interceptions as a junior...was coached by Bob Crable...placed seventh in the Division I long jump.
