On the heels of a solid 2007 campaign, Maxwell heads into the fall as the starter at strong side linebacker...tough player with great speed and good intstincts...will benefit from move to outside in the spring...has earned three varsity letters.

2007 Junior Season
Started 10 games and appeared in all 12 at his linebacker position...was fourth on the team with 74 tackles, 31 solo...was third on the team with 9.0 TFL for 31 yards...recorded 1.5 sacks for 16 yards lost...had one forced fumble and one quarterback hurry...tied his career best with 12 tackles, nine solo, against Akron Sept. 22...had perhaps his best game of the season against Miami Oct. 6, registering 11 tackles, 3.0 TFL for 17 yards, one sack for 13 yards and one pass break-up.

2006 Sophomore Season
Started every game but one at inside linebacker for the Golden Flashes...finished fourth on the team in total tackles with 69...26 of his tackles were made solo, and he notched two tackles for losses...registered 10 stops in season finale at Ball State on Nov. 24...had a career-best 12 tackles (five solo) and made a key interception against Army (Sept. 9) late in the game, returning it 17 yards.

2005 Redshirt Freshman Season
Played in eight games and started the final four games of the season...totaled 17 tackles and had a tackle for a loss...posted a season-best five tackles against Northern Illinois Oct. 22...had three stops at Navy Oct. 15...made first career start at Western Michigan Oct. 29.

2004 Freshman Season
Was redshirted his first season on campus.

Prior to Kent State
Earned All-Western Conference first-team honors as a senior at Tampa Bay Tech High School...also was named to the All-Hillsborough County Second Team...made 88 tackles and had 14 sacks his junior season...was rated as the 18th-best prospect in the Tampa Bay metro area by the St. Petersburg Times...was coached by Mike Bradley...earned letters in both football and track and field.
