Carter emerged from the spring atop the depth chart at defensive end...is a smart player with a lot of experience...coaches believe he has become one of the better leaders on the team...has earned one varsity letter.
2007 Junior Season
Made nine starts at his defensive lineman position and appeared in all 12 games...anchored a unit that was second in the MAC against the run...recorded 21 tackles, eight solo, on the season...recorded three TFL for 10 yards...added 1.5 sacks for eight yards...had his best game of the year at Kentucky on Sept. 8, recording five tackles, two TFL for four yards and one sack for a three-yard loss...had one pass break-up against Delaware State on Sept. 15.
Prior to Kent State
Helped El Camino College (Torrance, Calif.) to a 23-2 record during his two years...named Junior College Academic All-American and All-Mission Conference honorable mention selection in 2006...member of Mission Conference Champions and California State Junior College Champions in 2005...selected as a second-team all-league offensive tackle as a senior in the only year of high school that he played football...coached by John Featherstone at El Camino.
