Having Jon Brown on the team is almost like having another assistant coach on the sideline, as the fifth-year senior will help mentor Kent State's younger signal callers...gives the team depth at quarterback...hopes to become a coach someday.

2007 Redshirt Sophomore Season
Appeared in four games, making his second career start against Temple on Nov. 17...completed 28-of-62 passes for 215 yards...threw one touchdown and five interceptions on the season...was 16-of-34 for 132 yards and a touchdown against Northern Illinois on Nov. 10...threw a career-long 23-yard pass against the Huskies...had a 63.48 efficiency rating.
2006 Sophomore Season

2005 Freshman Season
Played in seven games, making one start at quarterback as a true freshman...completed 60-of-90 passes for 474 yards...posted a .619 completion percentage and a 101.46 quarterback rating...tossed two touchdowns against four interceptions...averaged 56.1 yards of total offense per game...made first career start at Eastern Michigan Oct. 1...connected on 29-of-45 attempts for a career-best 243 yards against the Eagles...hit Shawn Bayes for a 22-yard reception, which was longest completion of the year...came in to lead a comeback attempt against Ohio Sept. 24, completing 15-of-19 passes (78.9 percent) for 106 yards and a touchdown...the TD pass, the first of his career, was an 8-yard strike to Najah Pruden.

Earned All-Ohio and all-district honors as a three-year starter at Westlake High School...was a three-time All-Southwestern Conference selection and a two-year captain...as a senior, completed 208-of-304 passes (.684%) for 2,696 yards, 27 touchdowns and only three interceptions...threw for 7,819 yards in his career, the seventh-highest total in Ohio high school history...ranks ninth on the Ohio career charts with 69 touchdown passes, including a pair of six-touchdown games...holds every major passing record in school history and was twice the Cleveland-area statistical passing leader...named Most Valuable at Elite-11 Quarterback Camp in Las Vegas, Nev. in 2004...his 517-yard passing game against Grafton Midview in 2002 is the seventh-best single-game performance in Ohio history...was coached by Ron Johnson.
