In 2025-2026, Godfrey enters his second season at Kent State. He formerly served as Assistant Director of Strategic Communications at Gardner-Webb University (2023-2024), and as Media Relations Assistant at Indiana University (2019-2021).
Godfrey began his career in sports information in 2018 as a graduate intern at his alma mater Bowling Green State University, where he served as the primary contact for the men’s ice hockey team and men’s and women’s cross country teams.
As a student at BGSU, Godfrey worked as a marketing and promotions intern. He completed a capstone internship with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2017 where he assisted the Guest Experience and Ballpark Operations offices.
Godfrey holds a master’s degree in advanced media management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He graduated from Bowling Green in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a marketing minor.
