Indoor Track and Field Travels to Gladstein Invitational Friday and Saturday

Kent State's men's and women's indoor track and field teams travel to Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. for the Gladstein Invitational, Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.
The Golden Flashes enter after hosting Akron for a Mid-American Conference dual, which saw the women's team defeat the Zips 83-68 while the men fell just short, 77.50-73.50.
On the women's side of the event, Ann Marie Duffus and Dior Delophont were both two-time winners on the night. Delophont, MAC field athlete of the week and MAC Scholar Athlete of the week, posted two top marks for the conference in both the high jump and the triple jump. Delophont took first in the high jump with a jump of 6' 0.50", and took first in the triple jump with a distance of 40' 6.25".
Duffus took first in the long jump, 19' 8.25" and first in the 60-meter hurdles, 8.51. Delophont and Duffus were two of the eight athletes to take first in events – Hannah Fleck in the mile (5"02.19), Roseanne Erickson in the 60-meter dash (7.62), Laruen Burnett in the 800-meter (2:17.74), Chanitta Westbrooks in the 200-meter dash (24.92), Alexandria Vintevoghel in the 3000-meter run (10:14.19) and Joh'Vonnie Mosley in the shot put with a mark of 54' 8.00".
Despite a four point loss, the men's team was led by Kent State's Student-Athlete of the week and the men's MAC track athlete of the week, Wayne Gordon. Gordon Gordon won the 200-meter dash with a second-best all-time Kent State indoor record of 21.06. He preceded that with a 6.77 win in the 60-meter dash, which now sits 5th best all-time.
Gordon led the Flashes and was one of five athletes to take home first place honors in their events – William Barnes in the 60-meter hurdles (8.06), Miles Dunlap in the 400-meter run (47.87), Reggie Jagers in the weight throw (62' 2.50") as Donovan Tolbert took first in the triple jump with a jump of 48' 5.50". The men's 4x400-meter relay team also captured a first place finish with a time of 3:14.98.
The Kent State indoor track and field teams continue to be on the road on January 31st as they compete in the two-day Findlay Open in Findlay, Ohio.
