Offense Struggles in 3-1 Loss to Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kent State's high-powered offense lost some steam on Sunday afternoon, as the Golden Flashes fell to Ohio State 3-1, bringing both teams' records to 5-8 on the season.
The Buckeyes scored right out of the gate two minutes into the game on a breakaway then made it 2-0 shortly thereafter. It became a 3-0 Ohio State lead in the second half on another breakaway goal.
With 12 minutes remaining in the game, Hannah Faulkner broke the shutout with a goal off an assist by Ines Delpech.
Kent State was only able to get off seven shots in the match while Ohio State had 24. The Buckeyes also had a large advantage in corners, 15-4.
Andrea Rinehart had a good day in net with 13 saves while playing the full 70 minutes.
The Golden Flashes pick up conference play next Saturday, Oct. 18 when they travel to Miami.
