Flashes, Goodson Bring Home Second Place Finishes from SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kent State's women's golf team put on a strong closing round performance of a 292 (+12) on the final day of the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational to finish the event in second place with a total score of 867 (+27), just one stroke behind the winner Arizona.
"I was happy with the way we played," said Head Coach Greg Robertson. "We got beat by a really good team today but they played hard."
Natalie Goodson led the way for the Golden Flashes all weekend, including a final round of 74 (+4) to take home a share of second place honors with a 215 (+5) overall.
Three other Flashes finished in the top 20. Jennifer Ha shot a 216 (+6) with a 73 (+3) in the final round to end in a tie for 5th place. Erin Hawe finished in a tie for 13th with a final score of 219 (+9) after shooting a 76 (+6) on Sunday. Wad Phaewchimplee closed out her tournament with a 72 (+2) to finish in a tie for 17th with a three-round total of 220 (+10).
Rounding out Kent State's lineup, Taylor Kim posted a 73 (+3) in the final round to finish 17 over par with a 227.
Kent State has now placed in first or second as a team in four of six tournaments this season. The team has had six players finish in the top three individually in as many events.
The season continues for the Golden Flashes at the Mountain View Collegiate on March 28-29 in Tucson, Arizona.
