
Men's T&F 4x400m Relay Sets School Record at Tennessee Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Kent State's men's 4x400-meter sets the school record on the final day of the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tennessee Sat., April 12.
The men's 4x400-meter team highlighted day three at the relays as they finished third with a time of 3:08.97. The team was comprised of Matthew Tobin, Miles Dunlap, Jacob Swords and Laron Brown, as they now hold the fastest 4x400m relay time in Kent State history.
The Golden Flashes received a first place finish in the 4x800-meter relays as Jacob Swords, Marteze Roper, Grant Onken and Jared Fleming combined to finish at 7:33.89.
Kent State's 4x100-meter relay team – Nate Scales, Riak Reese, William Barnes and Wayne Gordon -- finished first with a time of 40.33 seconds, which is the fifth fastest in school history.
The final relay team for Kent State took sixth as Steve Fischer, Danny Young, Samuel Allen and Andrew Goodwin teamed up in the Distance Medley Relay, as they finished with a time of 10:07.45.
Individually, Wayne Gordon and Riak Reese took second and fifth, respectively, in the 200-meter dash Invitational with times of 20.57 and 20.89. Both men set new personal-records as Gordon climbs to fourth on the All-Time Top Performers List and Reese comes in at sixth.
Reggie Jagers took home fourth in the discus throw invitational with a mark of 55.00m (180' 5") as Jesse Oxley finished eighth in the pole vault invitational. Oxley has a height of 4.90m (16' 0.75").
Michael King finished sixth in the shot put with a personal-record of 18.56m (60' 10.75").
Cody Jones jumped 2.00m (6' 6.75") in the high jump for seventh place while Dylan Shirley tied for 16th in the long jump with a distance of 6.55m (21' 6").
The Golden Flashes next compete Fri., April 18 – Sat., April 19 in Columbus at the Jesse Owens Classic.
