Sweet Sixteen: Kent State Remains MAC Champions

FISHERS, Ind. – Kent State women's golf continued its dominance of the Mid-American Conference, winning its 16th-straight championship on Sunday (Apr. 27).
Jennifer Ha won the event for the second consecutive year while also repeating as MAC Women's Golfer of the Year. Natalie Goodson was the runner-up medalist while Wad Phaewchimplee finished the event in 3rd place before being named MAC Freshman of the Year.
The Golden Flashes shot 31-over in the tournament to beat second place Toledo by 21 strokes. Eastern Michigan took home a third place finish.
Ha sat atop the leaderboard at six-over while Goodson was a stroke off the lead at seven-over. Both had final rounds of 74. Phaewchimplee was close behind with a eight-over tournament.
Josée Doyon had a top-ten finish as she ended 13-over to tie for 6th place. Erin Hawe shot 20-over through the three days to round out the Kent State lineup.
Kent State had a total of 41 birdies in the tournament including 13 on the final day.
Six Golden Flashes earned All-MAC honors, the most ever in the 16-year history of the conference. Doyon, Ha and Phaewchimplee were named to the First Team while Goodson, Hawe and Taylor Kim made the All-MAC Second Team.
As the top three finishers, Ha, Goodson and Phaewchimplee also took home hardware after being named to the MAC All-Tournament Team.
