Women's Golf Looks to Repeat at Minnesota to Begin Season

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Kent State women's golf will begin the season on Monday at the Minnesota Invitational, the same event they started with and won a year ago.
The event, held at the par-72 course at the Minikahda Club, will consist of three rounds with the first two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
Competing for the Golden Flashes will be Josee Doyon, Jennifer Ha, Taylor Kim, Raksha Phadke and Wad Phaewchimplee. They will be up against host Minnesota, Nebraska, GRU-Augusta, Cal State Fullerton, Illinois, Texas State, Colorado, Texas, SMU, East Carolina, Purdue, Fresno State and Kansas. Kent State is the highest ranked team in the field at No. 37 in the nation, according to Golfstat. Kansas ranks close behind at No. 38.
The Golden Flashes won the event in 2013 with a 38-over final score. Jennifer Ha took home individual medalist honors with a 1-under 215 in the tournament.
Kent State is paired with Minnesota and SMU in the opening round and will tee off at 8:22am on Monday. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com
