
Soccer Hosts Ohio in Final Regular Season Game

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's soccer team hosts Ohio University at 3 p.m. in their final game of the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 29 at Zoeller Field. Live stats will be available via kentstatesports.com at game time.
The Golden Flashes went 1-1 last weekend after a 3-2 defeat of Central Michigan, followed by a 2-1 overtime loss to Toledo. Kent State is now 10-6-2 overall with a 6-4-0 mark in Mid-American Conference play and is currently in fifth with 18 points in MAC standings.
Junior forward Jenna Hellstrom (Sudbury, Ontario) currently ranks fifth in the country in both total assists (31) and assists per game (0.65), and also ranks 12th in total points (31).
Redshirt sophomore Donavan Capehart (Orient, Ohio) is second on the team in scoring with 24 points on 12 goals. Capehart leads the MAC in goals and goals per game (0.67), ranks second in points and points per game (1.33).  Hellstrom and Capehart have combined for more than half of Kent State's goals this season, as the duo has tallied 22 of the Flashes' 38 goals thus far.
Freshman goalkeeper Ashleah McDonald (Langley, British Columbia) has started in 16 games for the Golden Flashes and owns a 10-5-1 record. She has allowed 19 goals (1.17 gaa) and has posted 72 saves (.791 save percentage).
The Bobcats are 5-12-0 on the year with a 3-7-0 mark in the MAC after losing to both Toledo and Central Michigan last weekend.
Freshman forward Stephanie Rowland leads the Ohio University attack with 11 points on five goals and one assist, followed by junior Alexis Milesky with eight points on four goals.  The Bobcats have tallied a total of 17 goals this season.
In goal, freshman Taylor Smith has seen the most action, competing in 12 games for a 5-7-0 record. In 1055 minutes, Smith has allowed 19 goals (1.62 gaa) and has tallied 65 saves (.774 save percentage). She has also earned two shutouts.

The Golden Flashes are undefeated when playing at home, boasting a 6-0-1 record on Zoeller Field. Kent State and Ohio University are meeting for the 22nd time on Thursday as the Bobcats lead the all-time series, 11-9-1. However, the Golden Flashes have been victorious in the last five consecutive meetings, including a 3-2 win in Athens in 2014.   Â
