MAC Tournament Title Quest Begins Friday for Field Hockey

No. 1 Kent State (9-8) will take a shot at another championship when it begins the Mid-American Conference Tournament this weekend in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
The Golden Flashes will open up postseason play against No. 4 Ohio on Friday at 11:30 a.m. No. 2 Miami and No. 3 Missouri State will play at 2 p.m. The winners of both games will vie for the title on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Ohio
• Kent State is 46-26-2 all-time against Ohio
• The Golden Flashes scored two goals in the opening minutes at home this season to beat the Bobcats 2-1
• Both teams made the MAC Tournament final last season with Kent State winning 2-0
Miami
• Kent State is 45-32-2 all-time against Miami, including a 1-0 home victory earlier this season
• The Golden Flashes took both meetings last year, including a MAC Tournament semifinal 3-1 win
Missouri State
