• In his three years as a Golden Flash, Zarley Zalewski has started opening weekend with a bang
• In his first season, he went 4-for-5 in his first career game and finished the opening series batting .357 with a double
• Last year, his torrid pace continued. He was the MAC East Player of the Week after hitting .545 with a double, triple and five RBI in the opening weekend at Arizona
• Last weekend, Zalewski batted a team-high .400 in the first three games of 2015
DYNAMITE DEBUTS
• Sophomores Andy Ravel and Jared Skolnicki impressed with their weekend pitching debuts in the opening weekend
• Ravel started Saturday's game and went six strong innings with just one run and two hits allowed. He struck out five and walked just two. Batters hit a miniscule .095 against him in the game
• In his first career start, Jared Skolnicki went five innings and did not give up a run. He allowed just three hits and struck out seven while giving up only one walk
