Kent State's track and field squads travel west across I-76 to participate in the Northeast Ohio Quad in Akron, Thursday, April 2nd and Friday, April 3rd.

The Quad Meet ...
The Northeast Ohio Quad was previously moved from April 3rd-April 4th to April 2nd-April 3rd due to the expected weather this coming weekend. This four-team event that includes competitors from Akron, Ashland, Kent State and Youngstown State, and will be scored as a triple dual (individual events: 5-3-2-1, Relays: 5-3, with the results on FinishTiming.com. Running events start at 1:30pm with the 4x100m relays and will be on a rolling time schedule for the day, ending with the 4x400m relay around 3:20pm. Field events kick off Thursday at 1:00pm with the women's shot put, men's discus and the women's long jump.

At the 2014 Northeast Ohio Quad meet, multiple records set by the men and women's teams.
On the men's side, Wayne Gordon came in first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.22 (wind). Matthew Tobin took first in the 400-meter dash, 47.37, as Jesse Oxley finished in first place in the pole vault with a height of 5.20m (17' 0.75").
On the women's side, Kent State completed the sweep of the 800-meter dash as Tabitha Jacofsky took first (2:14.90), Olivia Gaus took second (2:21.80) and Kristen Bergmeyer took third (2:21.97).
Last Time Out: Raleigh Relays ...
The Golden Flashes took home top honors in the women's 4x800m relay race. The Kent State group Tabitha Jacofsky, Taylor Wickey, Kristen Bergmeyer and Hannah Fleck ran a time of 9:02.34.
Jackie Leppelmeier ended her trip to North Carolina with a second place finish in the hammer throw with a throw of 57.57m (188' 10").
Jesse Oxley claimed second place in the men's pole vault Saturday with a final height of 4.85m (15' 11"), as teammate Kyle Schlumbohm tied for fourth at 4.70m (15' 5").
Kent State's women's 4x400m relay team - Lynnese Beyan, Jorian Ordway, Taylor Farquhar and Tyler Williams - took third with a time of 3:50.43 (3:50.426). The Flashes women's 4x100m relay group - Kaila Gardner, Arbria Williams, Tyler Williams and Cayla Carey - took 18th at 48.48 (48.474).
The men's 4x200m relay squad - Jonathan Grant, Danny Young, Andrew O'Leary and Kyle Tywon - took home fifth with a time of 1:28.27, while the 4x100m relay - Isaiah Conkle, Jonathan Grant, Danny Young and Matthew Tobin - came in sixth at 42.14 (42.138).
