Women's Golf Posts Solid First Round at NCAA Regionals

Kent State had an 8-over opening day with a round of 296 at the NCAA South Bend Regional on Thursday. The team is currently tied for 5th place with Oklahoma State.
2014 National Champion Duke leads after the first round after shooting even. The top six teams after all three rounds will advance to the NCAA Championships later this month.
Both Josée Doyon and Taylor Kim posted scores of even par 72 to be tied for 12th place. Wad Phaewchimplee, Jennifer Ha and Natalie Goodson all tied at 4-over with rounds of 76 to be in 39th place.
The Golden Flashes had the best day of the field on par five scoring, shooting a combined 7-under on those holes. They also led with two eagles, one each by seniors Goodson and Ha.
Individually, Ha led the first round in par five scoring at 4-under while Goodson was next in line at 3-under.
The second round of NCAA Regionals is set to begin for Kent State on Friday at 8 a.m. Live scoring will once again be available at golfstat.com.
