The Mid-American Conference announced the Academic All-MAC honorees on Tuesday with eight members of the MAC regular season and tournament champion Kent State earning recognition.
Ines Delpech, Silvia Figa Malgosa, Jamie Fries, Krysti Lober, Alexis Madeira, Jessica Nesbitt, Shannon Talbot and Madison Thompson all received the award for having at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and participating in at least half of the team's games during the 2016 season. Student-athletes in their first year of competition are not eligible.
Delpech is one of three students on the 61-member Academic All-MAC Team to boast a perfect 4.0 GPA. This is the third consecutive year at least eight Flashes have been handed MAC academic honors.
Lober and Madeira are now three-time recipients while the other six mark back-to-back years in receiving the accolade.
The academic success mirrors the program's success on the field as the team earned its third-straight MAC regular season and tournament championship this past season. Both Delpech and Thompson were named All-Region for their on-field performances while more academic honors are due for the team as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association is still to send out its academic recognitions.
