
Flashes Repeat as Lady Buckeye Champions

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kent State repeated as the team champion of the Lady Buckeye Invitational this weekend, posting a final score of 14-over.
They beat host Ohio State and Indiana by five strokes.
Josée Doyon, the event's individual medalist in 2015, finished tied for second place at 2-under after a final round score of 4-over. Taylor Kim tied for 6th place at 4-over after a 3-over day.
Michaela Finn shot a final round of 4-over to finish in a tie for 11th. Amira Alexander was 8-over on Sunday to finish in a tie for 20th place. Wad Phaewchimplee was close behind in 25th place with a 10-over performance through the three rounds. Kasey Nielsen rounded out the team with a 23-over tournament final.
Playing as an individual, Kelly Nielsen finished in a tie for 54th at 24-over.
The Golden Flashes led all in par five scoring and in birdies with 39. Doyon was second in the field on par fours and third on par fives. She led the field with 12 birdies.
Kent State will now travel to Noblesville, Indiana, for the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend as they look to break the conference record with the programs' 18th consecutive title.
