
Field Hockey Heads to Ball State for MAC Play

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University field hockey teams returns to the road, traveling to Muncie, Indiana to take on the Ball State Cardinals Friday at 3 p.m.
The Golden Flashes enter the weekend 1-1 in conference play, having defeated Appalachian State, 3-0, before taking a close, hard fought loss against Miami, 1-0. The loss snapped a seven match winning streak over the Redhawks.
Kent State has four remaining matches on the schedule, all in MAC play. Following Friday's match, Kent State will travel to Central Michigan before hosting Longwood and Ohio to finish the year. Following MAC play, Kent State will host the MAC Tournament Nov. 3-4, with a spot in the NCAA Tournament on the line.
The Flashes are set to face a Ball State squad making their MAC debut this season. The Cardinals have gone 4-6 in nonconference play and are currently looking to snap a three match losing streak. Their previous two losses have come against nationally ranked foes in No. 13 James Madison and No. 6 Michigan.
Kent State has defeated Ball State six straight times heading into Friday's match, including a meeting in the MAC semifinals last season. Kent State won an entertaining affair, 2-1, with Alison Harmatz scoring the game-winning goal.
