#3 Kent State to Take on #6 Toledo in MAC Tournament Wednesday Night

Women's basketball will take part in the Mid-American Conference Tournament in Cleveland for the first time since 2011 this week. The Golden Flashes will be the No. 3 seed and start with quarterfinals action Wednesday night against No. 6 Toledo. Tipoff is expected anytime between 7-8 p.m.

• Spectrum Sports and ESPN3 will carry all women's quarterfinal and semifinal games
• The championship game on Saturday will air on CBS Sports Network at 11:00 a.m.
• Dave Wilson will have the call all tournament long on Golden Flashes iHeart Radio and 640 AM WHLO

MAC Tournament History
• Kent State has not made the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament since 2011 and has not been the No. 3 seed or higher since 2010
• The last time the Golden Flashes won the MAC Tournament was in 2002
• They also have two other tournament titles, in 2000 and 1998
• Buffalo won the tournament in 2016 as the No. 8 seed, the lowest seed to win in tournament history
• Akron was the last three seed to win the tournament when they beat No. 5 Ball State in 2014
• Since overall seeding started in 2010 (not broken down between East/West), the No. 1 seed has gone on to win the tournament just two times

• Tickets for the tournament can be purchased directly through the Kent State Ticket Office

Student Bus Trips
• Free tickets and bus transportation to the tournament is available for Kent State students
• A $10 refundable deposit will reserve seats
• Reservations will take place in the M.A.C. Center main lobby on Tuesday, March 7 at 1 p.m.
• The bus will leave from the front of the M.A.C. Center on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
• With wins, the bus will leave at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday
Pregame Reception
• A pregame fan reception will be held at Flannery's Pub in downtown Cleveland before Wednesday's game
• Alumni and fans are welcome to kickoff tournament week starting at 5 p.m.
• Flannery's Pub will be decorated in blue and gold with complimentary appetizers provided
• The KSU Bookstore will be on hand to sell apparel
• The event is hosted by the Kent State Alumni Association and Kent State Athletics
