JONESBOROUGH, Tenn.- The Kent State University men's golf team finished fourth the three-day Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate with a 25-under (276-275-288) 839 score on Sunday.

Johnny Travale and Bjarki Petursson led the Flashes' efforts in the tournament and both finished in the top 15 on the leaderboard tied for 12^th at 7-under par.

Travale continued his under-par scoring and finished the final round at 2-under par. He went 16 holes for par or less with four total birdies on the day bringing his tournament total to 12. After an early bogey on hole four, Travale closed out the front nine with three straight birdies. Petursson carded a 2-over par 74 score. The senior added two birdies on the par-5 8^th hole and the par-3 13^th hole that brought his birdie total to 13.

Finishing tied for 22^nd at 3-under par was Will Kurtz. Kurtz finished the day at 6-over par. Josh Gilkison shot a final round at even-par as he finished tied for 29^th at 2-under par. After a bogey on the first hole, Gilkison quickly wiped that away after an eagle on the par-5 no. 5 hole, followed by a birdie on seven. Gilkison finished the back-nine with back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14.

Also with an eagle on hole four was Gisli Sveinbergsson. The senior fired an even-par score, his best of the tournament, and finished tied for 63^rd at 6-over par. Sveinbergsson started the back-nine with back-to-back birdies and finished the day with four total.

Competing as an individual was Chris Doody who finished the tournament tied for 58^th at 5-over par. Doody completed the day at 3-over par 75 with three birdies.

This was the Flashes' first top-5 finish of the season and second top-10 finish. Kent State has one more tournament on the fall schedule and will be back in action Oct. 22-23 at the Royal Oaks Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
