
Flashes Wrap up Fall Play at Royal Oaks Intercollegiate

KENT, Ohio- The Kent State University men's golf team will conclude its fall schedule and head to Dallas, Texas to compete in the 11th-annual Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, which runs Monday and Tuesday at the Maridoe Golf Club. This year's tournament was moved to Maridoe in Carrollton, Texas, due to flooding at Royal Oaks.
For the second consecutive season, the tournament will be played using The Maxwell format, with all five players on each team's lineup playing the same hole together. The 14-team field features tournament-host No. 41 Baylor, No. 16 Arkansas, Charlotte, Houston, No. 39 Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, No. 33 North Carolina, No. 34 North Carolina State, No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 4 Pepperdine, No. 6 SMU and UTSA.
Last season, the Flashes finished fourth with Bjarki Petursson leading the way with a 2-under par 211 score. Petursson is the No. 1 spot in the Kent State lineup, followed by Gisli Sveinbergsson, Johnny Travale, Josh Gilkison, and Will Kurtz.
