
Flashes Golf Takes Second Place at Betsy Rawls Invite

AUSTIN, Texas- The No.16 Kent State women's golf shot a 2-under par 286 in Sunday's final round of the Betsy Rawls Invitational, finishing in second place with a 54-hole total of 3-under 861 at University of Texas Golf Club.
The Flashes (-3) recorded their fourth-straight top-3 finish of the season after trailing tournament champion and host Texas (-10) by seven strokes. Baylor took third place with an 11-over par score, followed by Florida (+16) and Texas Tech (+25) who finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Kent State's best score in Sunday's final round came from senior Michaela Finn. Finn went 16 holes for par or less and finished with five birdies in the final round with three straight on holes 12-15. She posted a 3-under par 69 that placed her in the top-3 finishers for third place at 3-under par 213.
Junior Karoline Stormo finished the tournament tied for seventh at1-over 217 after she carded an even-par score. Stormo went 15 holes for par or less and birdied four times. Sophomore Chloe Salort had her best round of the tournament after she carded an even-par score. The Sophomore had a pair of birdies in the front nine, followed by a birdie on the par-5 14th hole before ending the day with a birdie on 18. Salort finished tied for 14th at 4-over 220.
Sophomore Kory Nielsen fired a 5-over 77 score in the final round and finished the tournament tied for 17th at 5-over 221. Pimnipa Panthong carded a 1-over 73 final round score and finished tied for 23rd in the tournament at 7-over 223.
Marissa Kirkwood placed tied for 42nd at 14-over and posted a 6-over par score in the final round.
