BOWLING GREEN, Ohio โ Kent State's road struggles continued Friday night in a 3-0 (14-25, 15-25, 20-25) setback to Bowling Green in a Mid-American Conference match inside of the Stroh Center.
The Golden Flashes (8-11, 1-4 MAC) are now 0-7 in true road matches this season and 0-8 all-time at the Stroh Center.
After having six different players post double-figure kill matches during last weekend's two home matches, Kent State struggled to get anything going offensively. The Flashes totaled 27 kills and 22 attack errors on 109 attempts or a .046 hitting percentage. Senior Lexi Mantas led the way with six kills. Freshman Danie Tyson added five kills. Redshirt freshman Alex Haffner recorded 23 assists.
Bowling Green totaled 42 kills and a .330 hitting percentage by minimizing errors. The Falcons' eight attack errors are the fewest by a Kent State opponent this season. Bowling Green did hurt itself, however, with 11 service errors.
Freshman Erin Gardner tallied a team-high 14 digs. Sophomore Kaeleigh Stang made 11 digs and Mantas added nine digs. Kent State recorded a season-low one block in the match.
Kent State will attempt to capture its first true road victory when it visits Millett Hall to take on Miami on Saturday at 5 p.m.ย ย ย ย ย ย
