
Flashes Conclude Jack Nicklaus Invitational

DUBLIN, Ohio- The Kent State men's golf team wrapped up match play in the shortened Jack Nicklaus Invitational as the opposing Stanford defeated the Flashes, 6-0, on Tuesday.
Stanford led in all six assignments Monday afternoon against the Flashes before play was suspended at 6:45. Play resumed Tuesday morning with Stanford completing the match 6-0.
Senior Gisli Sveinbergsson dropped his match to Isaiah Salinda, 2 &1; senior Bjarki Petursson fell to Ethan Ng, 2-up; sophomore Josh Gilkison dropped to David Snyder, 5-up; freshman Johnny Travale lost his match to Ashwin Arasu, 4&3; Chris Doody and Julien Paltrinieri fell in their matches, 5&4.
As a result, Georgia Tech and Clemson were declared co-champions.
The Flashes return to action Oct. 12-13 in the Bank of Tennessee tournament hosted by East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn.
