
Seven Flashes Represented on Academic All-MAC Field Hockey Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio –The Kent State University field hockey team had seven student-athletes named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Team, as announced by the conference Wednesday.
The Flashes honored were:
Jessica Apelt, Senior, 3.696
Hailie Balachick, Sophomore, 3.441
Ashley Bonetz, Sophomore, 3.473
Helen Harper, Senior, 3.286
Laila Richter, Junior, 3.66
Clara RodriguezSetó, Sophomore, 3.474
Melanie Scibilia, Junior, 3.555
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
The Kent State field hockey team matched its academic success on the playing field, finishing 5-1 in MAC play. The Flashes advanced to the MAC Championship game where they fell to Miami to end the season.
