No. 18 Kent State looks to repeat as team champions at the BYU at Entrada Classic Monday and Tuesday (March 12-13) in St. George, Utah. BYU and the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club will host the two-day, 54-hole tournament. Fourteen teams will compete on the par-72, 6,098 yard course.
Action begins with a shotgun start at 10:30 Eastern/8:30 Mountain for 36 holes on Monday. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
"The team loves the golf course and that's why we're going back," Head Coach Greg Robertson said. "All of our players say it's one of their favorite courses they've ever played on. Last year we had success with both the team and individual title."
The Competition
The Flashes enter as the highest-ranked team, but three others rank in the Top 50: No. 26 North Carolina, No. 49 SMU and No. 48 BYU. The rest of the field includes: Boise State, Oral Roberts, Oregon State, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UTSA, Utah Valley and Wyoming.
"It's going to be a stronger field than it was last year," Robertson said. "We're going to have to play well and play our game. As we get closer to the end of the year, having good teams to play against will definitely benefit us."
The Lineup
Kent State's lineup features junior Michaela Finn, sophomores Pimnipa Panthong and Karoline Stormo and freshmen Kory Nielsen and Chloe Salort.
